Greetings Eden Central School Families,
A winter wonderland has descended upon us. Hopefully, folks have been able to enjoy
the snow and the task of snow removal has not been too tedious.
Today, teachers were involved in meetings and trainings both with people from Eden as
well as educators from around the district. In our meetings with Eden staff, we noticed that
students have been making progress in both math and literacy. These gains demonstrate the
determination and perseverance of the students to learn new skills.
Please note that students have P.E. on Wednesdays and Fridays. It is important for the
children to bring sneakers these days so they can enjoy the various activities. There are
sneakers to borrow, but often youngsters prefer their own shoes. Also, ask your children about
some of the new gymnastics equipment. One student commented, “It’s like we have a
playground inside!”
Basketball is happening on Saturdays for Eden youth. Please visit the Eden Youth
Sports FaceBook page for practice times. Thank-you again for the volunteers that are helping
to provide this opportunity for our young people.
Thank-you for your support in making ECS a great place for children to learn and to
grow!
Best Regards,

Thank-you for your understanding regarding our phone system on Thursday, December 9, 2021. If you receive a busy signal when calling the school, that indicates there is an issue with Consolidated Communications. In the event of this situation happening again, please call the ECS landline at 802-635-7251. Or call or text the ECS Principal’s phone at 802-730-0666.

We experienced two positive COVID19 cases in our school community that required quarantine for close contacts. We also had one positive COVID19 case that did not necessitate quarantine protocols because the individual was not present in school during their infectious period. Thank-you for being flexible and understanding when situations like these arise. Also, remember when your child feels sick please have them stay home.

The 5th and 6th grade Student Council food drive is off to a great start! Folks have filled two boxes with non-perishable food items, the owner of Eden General Store has donated two turkeys, and the owner of Eden Mini-Mart has given $20.00 to the cause. At this point, the total of monetary donations is $63.00. The initiative of the ECS Student Council has spurred the community spirit of our school community.

Please be aware of a recent change to the school calendar. Thursday, December 23, 2021 is an early release day. Student dismissal will be at 11:30. We hope that families can enjoy this extra time together. Winter break is from Thursday, December 24, 2021 to December 31, 2021. School resumes on January 3, 2022.

Sharing is an important part of our Responsive Classroom Morning Meetings. In some classes, students have particular days to share. If this share involves bringing an item from home, it is important for this item to be stored in a locker or cubby during the school day. Other items, such as toys, fidgets, or trading cards should remain at home. These other items become distractions from our learning. Please discuss with your child the guidelines regarding Morning Meeting shares and how to support this important activity. Each class has many different toys, games, and fidgets for students to enjoy and we add to our collections as student interests change.

Thank-you for your support in making ECS a great place for children to learn and to grow!

Greetings Eden Central School Families,

Winter has returned to blanket our world in white. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate during the break so folks can enjoy outdoor activities. Please note that our winter break begins on February 21, 2022 and school is back in session on March 2, 2022. March 1, 2022 is Town Meeting Day. This year the meeting will be held at ECS in the gym.

Session 4 of the Eden After School Program will begin on March 2, 2022 and end on April 15, 2022. Registration forms have been placed in student folders last week. Please review the offerings with your child/children to decide if they would like to participate. If you

have any questions, please contact Judy Langlois at jlanglois@edenschool.net or call 802-521-5500.

As part of the Winter Break Test to Return program, each student should receive a box of at-home Antigen tests (2 tests total) to bring home. This box is recommended to be used

prior to your student’s return to school after Winter Break regardless of their vaccination status. This test is being provided to offer guidance to families to help them decide whether their

student should return to school or isolate at home. One test should be taken the day before their return to school (Tuesday, March 1), and the second test the morning prior to coming into school

(Wednesday AM, March 2). If you have any questions, please contact Betzi Goodman.

On the second page of this letter, please find an updated list of important dates. Please note that some dates have been changed from the original list.

Thank-you for your support in making ECS a great place for children to learn and to grow!
