Dear ECS Families and Caregivers,
We look forward to seeing all of you at Open House on Thursday, September 25, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Open House is a great, informal opportunity for students to lead their families and caregivers on a tour of our school, focusing on their classroom and other learning spaces, such as the gym, art and music rooms and more! Students love being the “tour guides” at this event, and it is a fabulous opportunity for them to take on leadership roles and explain their physical spaces and current work. The Book Fair will also be open the evening of Open House, in the gym, where you can also say hello to Mrs. Neckers, our librarian.
As Open House approaches, here are just a few reminders:
- Open House is a great opportunity to meet teachers and see learning spaces, and it does not provide the time or privacy for individual, confidential conversations. We ask that families reserve these more individualized and in-depth discussions for conferences or another scheduled time.
- Our school is a busy place during Open House! Please encourage your child(ren) to remain with you at all times, as there is no supervision by school staff.
- The school will open for visitors promptly at 6:00 PM and close at 7:00 PM. Thank you for respecting the timing of this event.
- Thank you for the respectful, responsible and safe adult role modeling that you will do for students and siblings during Open House. There will be so many children watching, and we are grateful for the positive interactions that will help our students continue to understand how to behave at school.
- All of our professional staff will be on hand this evening, including service providers that may support your child(ren) in addition to their classroom and specials teachers. I encourage you to check in with everyone that supports your child(ren). We will have a brief “people and places” scavenger hunt for families when you enter. We would love for you to complete that and drop it in the box on your way out. We will be drawing for some fun prizes!
Thank you so much for the support and encouragement you give your child(ren) by attending Open House with them. Your attendance sends a strong message about the importance of school and gives your child(ren) a chance to shine as leaders! We can’t wait to see you!
