Dear K-2 Families and Caregivers,
On Tuesday, April 28, a local author will be visiting each of our K-2 classrooms to read and discuss her latest book. And, you are invited!
Maryanne Wood, of Berkshire, Vermont, is the author of several books, including her debut children’s story, Randall and Hunter Go with the Flow: Two Tails on the Move! The book teaches the skill of adaptability through the adventures of her two adorable basset hounds, Randall and Hunter.
As a former dog trainer with 15 years of experience, Maryanne has seen her pups through a lot! She is excited to bring some of those life skills lessons to children through her engaging stories. During her visit, she will read her book and talk about ways that her dogs have taught her to be more adaptable to change, and how we can do the same! Thanks to some incredible grant funding, we are also able to provide a signed copy of the book for every student to take home and keep as they practice being adaptable to change outside of school.
We would love for families to join us for Maryanne’s visits, which will include a brief “author’s tea” with light refreshments at the end of each session. Here are the times:
Kindergarten: 8:30 - 9:30 AM
Grade One: 10:30 - 11:30 AM
Grade Two: 9:30 - 10:30 AM
